1248 GMT - Shell investors will be breathing a sigh of relief at today's Hague Court of Appeals judgment, Quilter Cheviot energy analyst Maurizio Carulli says. "This court case had the potential to weigh on the share price and could have opened [Shell] and others in the sector up to more legal challenges," Carulli writes. The ruling overturned the 2021 landmark decision that the energy giant had to decrease its emissions by 45% by 2030. With its headquarters moved out of the Netherlands, and having only few assets in the country, it is unclear how future court judgments would have been enforced, he says. "But ultimately it could have had huge ramifications across the investment landscape." Shares are down 0.8% at 25.29 pounds. (christian.moess@wsj.com)
