Bitcoin Sets Another Record; Bond Yields Rise -- WSJ

Does the Trump Trade have room to run?

Bitcoin notched a new peak above $89,000 early Tuesday, before quickly retrenching to about $86,000. Shares of Tesla and Trump Media edged lower.

Overall, U.S. stocks opened mixed after the S&P 500, Dow industrials and Nasdaq Composite hit fresh all-time highs Monday.

Asian markets largely declined. The Wall Street Journal reported President-elect Trump is expected to nominate China hawk Marco Rubio as his secretary of state, and has picked Mike Waltz as his national security adviser.

In recent market action:

The S&P 500 and Dow rose, while the Nasdaq retreated after the opening bell.

Benchmark Treasury yields climbed to 4.390%, after the 10-year yield settled at 4.307% Friday. Treasury markets were closed Monday for Veterans Day.

The U.S. dollar continued to strengthen, gaining modestly against a basket of currencies.

Chinese stocks fell, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index sliding 2.8%. Japan's Nikkei 225 and the Stoxx Europe 600 also declined.
