NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) said Tuesday it has launched Trimension UWB, a wireless battery management system for electric vehicles.
The company said such wireless communication "enables robust and reliable transfer" of information such as voltage and temperature "to ensure optimal performance" and prevent failures. Fewer connectors and wires help increase battery energy density, the company said.
The system will be available to firms for evaluation and development in Q2 2025, the company said.
