MT Newswires Live11-13

Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX) expanded its Starlight mineral resource at the Fortnum Project in Western Australia's Murchison region to 12.9 million tonnes grading 2.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for a total of 1.1 million ounces, a 91% increase since June, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The new estimate includes 8.7 million tonnes at 3 g/t for 840,000 ounces of underground resources, marking a 43% rise, and introduces 4.2 million tonnes at 2.2 g/t for 290,000 ounces of open-pit resources.

The growth follows a two-year drilling campaign aimed at extending Fortnum's life and enabling production growth.

Westgold has launched a scoping study to evaluate expansion options for both underground and open-pit mining, with findings expected in Q2 fiscal 2025.
