Singapore shares overcame yesterday's losses to return to black on Wednesday, despite global equity markets declining overnight.
The Straits Times Index fluctuated between 3,670.70 and 3,723.58 during the day. It ended the session at 3,720.34, up 8.86 points or 0.24% from Tuesday's close.
In corporate news, Frasers Property (SGX:TQ5) returned to profit in fiscal H2 after logging a profit attributable to owners of SG$148.9 million, against an attributable loss of SG$52.6 million a year ago, sending the property developer's shares up over 3% at market close.
The Hour Glass (SGX:AGS) closed nearly 1% lower on Wednesday, as its profit attributable to owners of the company fell 20% year over year to SG$61.4 million for the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 from SG$77.0 million.
Singtel's (SGX:Z74) shares were up nearly 1% on Wednesday's close, even as its profit attributable to shareholders shrank to SG$1.23 billion in the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 from SG$2.14 billion a year earlier.
