India's Total Exports Rise 19% in October; Trade Deficit Narrows to $10.12 Billion

India's total exports, including goods and services, rose 19% to $73.21 billion in October from $61.48 billion a year ago, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on Thursday.

Total imports in October also increased 8% year on year to $83.33 billion from $77.33 , narrowing the trade deficit to $10.12 billion from $15.85 billion.

The nation's exports of goods climbed to $39.20 billion in October from $33.43 billion a year earlier, while services exports jumped to $34.02 billion from $28.05 billion.

On the import side, goods rose to $66.34 billion in the reported month from $63.86 billion a year earlier, while services climbed to $17.00 billion from $13.46 billion.
