1024 ET -- Scotts Miracle-Gro's dramatic 20% stock decline after it released F4Q results last week was mostly overdone and the consequence of "volatility breeding volatility," Stifel analyst W. Andrew Carter and John Nelson say in a research note. Some of the stock's fall was rightly driven by some uncertainty around the ability to sustain earnings in the quarters ahead, the analysts say. But they met with the CFO during two days of investor meetings and came away assured that its FY25 gross margin guidance is achievable, with growth to come beyond that. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
