Sector Update: Financial Stocks Lean Lower Pre-Bell Friday

Financial stocks were leaning lower pre-bell Friday as the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) declined by 0.1% recently.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.2% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.2% higher.

Progressive (PGR) shares were over 2% higher after the company reported October net income of $0.69 per share, up from $0.68 a year earlier.

Associated Banc-Corp (ASB) shares were down more than 1% after the company priced its public offering of 12 million common shares at $25 per share for gross proceeds of $300 million.

KKR (KKR) has increased its takeover offer for Japan's Fuji Soft to 9,451 Japanese yen ($60.84), up from its original offer of 8,800 yen, the software company said. KKR shares were up 0.2% premarket.
