Haverty Furniture CEO Clarence Smith to Retire, Steven Burdette Named Successor

Haverty Furniture (HVT) said Tuesday that Clarence H. Smith, chief executive and chairman, will retire as CEO and transition to executive chairman of the board, starting Jan. 1, 2025.

The home furnishings retailer said its current president Steven G. Burdette will succeed Smith as president and chief executive officer.

Shares of Haverty Furniture were down 1.6% in recent trading.
