Nvidia Says SoftBank First to Receive New Blackwell Chips

Nvidia (NVDA) Chief Executive Jensen Huang said Tuesday that SoftBank will be the first to receive Nvidia's latest Blackwell platform for its supercomputer to drive artificial intelligence initiatives, including large language models for Japan.

Nvidia also said it partnered with SoftBank's Japanese telecom subsidiary to pilot an AI radio access network, or AI-RAN, which can run AI and 5G workloads at the same time.

SoftBank also plans to use Nvidia's Grace Blackwell chips to build another supercomputer as well as create an AI marketplace to meet local AI computing demand, Nvidia added.
