TFF Pharmaceuticals shares dropped after the company said it terminated its employees and will wind down operations.

The stock slid 66%, to 55 cents, in after-hours trading Thursday.

The company previously warned in financial filings that there was substantial doubt about its ability to continue operating as a going concern.

TFF said in September that it would work with Emory University and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority on potential use of the company's Thin Film Freezing technology for inhalational delivery of antiviral therapy against respiratory viruses.
