Financial stocks were higher in Wednesday afternoon trading, with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each rising 0.2%.
The Philadelphia Housing Index was adding 0.6%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) was 0.8% higher.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) jumped 5.2% to $92,545, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries was rising 1.6 basis points to 4.45%.
In economic news, the US seasonally adjusted consumer price index rose by 0.2% in October, as expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg, and following a 0.2% increase in September, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Wednesday.
In corporate news, Hut 8 (HUT) shares jumped past 9% after the company reported it swung to a Q3 profit as revenue more than doubled compared with a year earlier.
The US is looking into Russian clients that UBS (UBS) acquired through its Credit Suisse acquisition, Reuters reported. UBS shares fell 1.2%.
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) is willing to abandon its bid for Banco Sabadell if stringent Spanish regulatory requirements undermine the deal's appeal, BBVA Chief Executive Onur Genc said. BBVA shares were shedding 0.7%.
