PG&E (PCG) unit Pacific Gas & Electric is using Atomic Canyon's artificial intelligence-powered Neutron Enterprise solution at the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant to bolster data management.

Financial details weren't disclosed. Atomic Canyon is based in San Luis Obispo, California, near the Diablo Canyon plant

Built on Nvidia's (NVDA) AI platform, the Neutron Enterprise solution will "deliver significant cost savings and improved operational efficiency," reducing search times to seconds from hours, Pacific Gas & Electric said Wednesday in a statement.

"Efficiency and innovation are key for maintaining compliance in a rigorous regulatory environment," the utility said. "This marks the inaugural commercial installation of the first on-site generative AI deployment at a US nuclear power plant."
