Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group's Fiscal H1 Earnings, Ordinary Income Increase; Fiscal 2025 Earnings Forecast Raised

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc (SMFG) reported fiscal H1 earnings Thursday of 184.72 Japanese yen ($1.18) per diluted share, up from 131.43 yen a year earlier.

Ordinary income for the six months ended Sept. 30 was 5.277 trillion yen, compared with 4.483 trillion yen a year earlier.

Analyst estimates were not readily available for comparison.

The company raised its earnings forecast for fiscal 2025 to 299.94 yen per share, from 270.98 yen expected previously. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect 293.04 yen.
