Tutor Perini Gets $1.18B Contract to Replace Newark's Airtrain

Tutor Perini said its joint venture with O&G Industries has secured a $1.18 billion contract to replace New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport AirTrain.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey awarded the contract, the civil, building and specialty construction company said Monday.

The scope work of the project includes designing and constructing a 2.5-mile elevated, automated people mover train system with three stations. The existing AirTrain at Newark Liberty International Airport has been operating since 1996.

Tutor Perini is the managing partner in the joint venture with O&G serving as a 25% partner, the company said.
