BOE Likely to Cut Rates Gradually as U.K. Inflation Rises -- Market Talk

Dow Jones11-20

1004 GMT - The Bank of England is likely to maintain a gradual pace of interest-rate cuts as U.K. inflation is expected to edge higher in the coming months, RBC Capital Markets analysts say in a note. The BOE has said it will take a gradual approach in lowering interest rates, and Wednesday's inflation data is unlikely to change that narrative, RBC says. "Services CPI inflation is expected to rise again in January due to the imposition of value added tax on private school fees and an increase in the U.K.'s single journey bus fare cap," the analysts say.
