ServiceNow (NOW) is planning to invest $2 billion to expand data centers and its office in Japan, the company confirmed to MT Newswires in an emailed statement.

The investment will be spread over a few years and a portion will be used to increase data center capacity against rising client demand and enhance generative AI services, Nikkei reported Monday, citing Chief Executive Bill McDermott.

"ServiceNow will invest in the future of AI in Japan through direct investment in new technology and talent, and by enhancing its Tokyo and Osaka data centers," the company told MT Newswires.

"The company also plans to expand and relocate its current office in the latter half of next year to supporting its growing employee base beyond its current headcount of nearly 500 employees," ServiceNow added.
