Tower Semiconductor (TSEM) said Tuesday it started volume production of 1.6 terabit per second optical transceivers on its latest silicon photonic platform for multiple customers, including Coherent (COHR).
The company said its new platform supports the development of high-speed data communication components and the industry shift to data rates of 200Gbs per lane from the current 100Gbs per lane.
