Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Fall Premarket Tuesday

Consumer stocks fell premarket Tuesday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) 0.6% lower and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) down 1.3% recently.

Walmart (WMT) shares advanced by almost 2% after the company reported higher fiscal Q3 adjusted earnings and net sales. The company also raised its fiscal 2025 outlook on adjusted earnings per share and net sales growth.

Amer Sports (AS) shares were over 5% higher after the company said it swung to an adjusted profit in Q3 as revenue increased during the period.

Trip.com Group (TCOM) shares were up over 4% after the company reported higher Q3 non-GAAP income and net revenue.
