Nasdaq, S&P 500 Rise Slightly to Start Nvidia Earnings Week -- Market Talk

1606 ET - Nasdaq and S&P 500 rise while DJIA slips ahead of Nvidia's earnings on Wednesday. Shares of the AI chip maker fall 1.3%, partially recovering from a deeper fall in the morning caused by a report by The Information that it was struggling with overheating in its newest systems. Super Micro shares, on the other hand, rise 16% on news it was planning a regulatory filing that might allow the server maker to avoid being delisted on Nasdaq. Treasury yields and the dollar decline. U.S. housing starts data tomorrow are expected to show signs of cooling. The Nasdaq rises 0.6% to 18792 and the S&P 500 is up 0.4% to 5894.
