Singapore Shares Rise 0.7%, Tracking Broad Regional Gains -- Market Talk

0937 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.7% higher at 3757.97, tracking broad regional gains. Asian markets are taking advantage of the easing U.S. dollar to recover, Yeap Jun Rong, market strategist at IG, writes in a note. On a macro scale, Trump 2.0 cabinet announcements remain in focus for clues on his agenda come January, the Saxo Strategy Team writes in a commentary. Among advancers, Seatrium rose 3.8%, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding gained 3.6% and SATS was 2.9% higher. Meanwhile, CapitaLand Ascendas REIT fell 1.2%, Mapletree Industrial Trust lost 0.9% and Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust was 0.8% lower. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
