MT Newswires Live11-19

Hong Kong's electricity bills may increase by 1% in the coming year, higher than the proposed tariff in the five-year development program last year, The Standard reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources.

CLP Power and Hong Kong Electric will confirm any changes at the Legco panel on environmental affairs. The CLP Power projected basic tariff would be about 100.3 HK cents per unit, and the average net tariff would be about 144 HK cents per unit, the report said.

Meanwhile, HK Electric will likely raise the basic tariff to 124 HK cents per unit next year and an average net tariff of HK$1.67 per unit, the Standard said.
