Weyerhaeuser is expanding its engineered wood products capacity in the South, investing $500 million to build a new TimberStrand facility in Arkansas.

The lumber company on Monday said the facility will have an annual production capacity of about 10 million cubic feet and generate over $100 million of annual adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization at full operating capacity.

Construction is expected to begin in 2025, but the company's goal is to have the facility running in 2027.

Overall, the investment serves its growing customer base in the southern U.S., Weyerhaeuser said.
