Citi also expects Coherent (COHR) to be a 40%+ non-GAAP gross margin company with a $5+ earnings power by FY2026E (ended Jun-26).  \"We believe Street is still underestimating COHR AI sales and its new management ability to quickly deliver on its goals to 1) further focusing on the strong growth/profitable businesses, 2) implementing a firm-wide new pricing/cost optimization strategy, 3) improving COHR’s operational efficiency,\" analysts said. Subsequently, Citi models a +4%/+15% sales and EPS upside, and maintains its 'buy' rating, as it views COHR as a direct beneficiary of the Gen AI and 800G to 1.6T Megratrends. The investment bank also views the arrival of Jim Anderson as an overall positive, given his knack for expanding his company’s gross margin through pricing increases and operational improvements.  Among peers, Citi expects Astera Labs (ALAB) to grow EPS at 48% CAGR in the next three fiscal years, vs. 22% AI optics peers. On a YTD basis, COHR stock has risen 124%, having surpassed Q1 estimates earlier this month, compared to the broader S&P 500 market, which is up 23%.
