Unilever Now Plans Spin-Off of Ice-Cream Unit, FT Reports

--Unilever has shelved plans to sell its ice-cream division to private equity groups and will instead aim for a spin-off of the unit in an independent listing, the Financial Times Reported, citing sources.

--Unilever's change of plans comes after private equity firms cooled their interest on a potential deal given the ice-cream division's large size and complicated supply chain, among other reasons, according to FT.

--A bidder for the division, whose portfolio of brands includes Ben & Jerry's, Magnum and Wall's, could still emerge, the FT said, adding that the business could be worth about EUR10 billion to EUR15 billion.
