Stephen Bratspies and Pierre Breber were elected to Clorox's board of directors.

Bratspies, 57, currently serves as chief executive of apparel-maker Hanesbrands. He previously held senior leadership roles at Walmart, Specialty Brands and PepsiCo.

The cleaning-products maker said on Wednesday his "significant customer, retail and consumer packaged goods industry background enables him to provide valuable perspective on the company's strategy, business and growth."

Breber, 60, has held numerous roles at oil-giant Chevron, where he currently serves as chief financial officer. In addition to his financial and accounting expertise, Breber has experience in strategic transformation and growth initiatives, which will support Clorox's goals, the company said.
