The 6.2-kilometer track, featuring 17 turns, winds past famous Las Vegas landmarks, promising exposure for casinos located strategically on the Strip. While buzz over the F1 event is high, the impact on corporate earnings is uncertain due to some of the issues that were seen last year. Caesars Entertainment (NASDAQ:CZR) CEO Tom Reeg said the company expects Strip revenue to would flat-to-down a couple of million dollars in comparison to last year. Notably, Caesars Entertainment (CZR) has eight casinos located on the 3.8-mile F1 circuit. Reeg said that last year’s F1 race was responsible for $18 million of increased cash flow compared with the same weekend in 2022, with most of the revenue boost derived from CZR's higher-end properties. MGM Resorts (NYSE:MGM) has even more casinos close to the F1 race than Caesars (CZR). CEO Bill Hornbuckle said the company has seen with hotel reservations on par with last year's level for the same weekend, and expects that gaming revenue could be slightly higher. Last year, MGM Resorts(MGM) recorded record Q4 profit after seeing a lift from F1 weekend action at the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. The F1 weekend is not expected to be a major boost for other areas of Las Vegas, such as downtown, the locals gaming markets, and at Strip properties south of Harmon Avenue. However, the industry is looking to learn from last year's lessons when media reports about heavy traffic congestion, construction problems, and the inability to easily watch the race dominated headlines and held back traffic. Downtown Las Vegas casinos are hosting the free Neon City Festival on November 22-24 along the Fremont Street Experience, which will be clear of the F1 racing loop. Circa CEO Derek Stevens and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority spearheaded those efforts. Meanwhile, performance cars will be on display at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas as part of the Aston Martin British Bloodline experience and Resorts World has launched a temporary indoor racing experience featuring high-performance electric karts. Another factor could be the Las Vegas Raiders home game against the Denver Broncos at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, which could boost weekend traffic close properties such as MGM's (MGM) Mandalay Bay and Luxor. \"The properties outside of the Formula One circuit didn't do well during the last race,\" LVCVA CEO Steve Hill said in May. \"Having an NFL game that weekend will serve those outlying properties well,\" added Hill. Meanwhile, Golden Entertainment (GDEN) CEO Blake Sartini pointed to an increased effort to provide an entertainment-heavy weekend to help make sure visitation does not fall back. \"We are in an offensive mode and we anticipate a much better weekend for us as we continue to roll out our plan for the specific events. All of the downtown properties are involved,\" stated Sartini. Other companies hoping for a strong F1 weekend, without the hitches from last year, include Boyd Gaming (BYD), Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN), Red Rock Resorts (RRR), Full House Resorts (FLL), and Bally's Corporation (BALY). A successful F1 weekend could also have positive implications for Formula One (FWONA) (FWONK). The company said on its recent earnings call that the Las Vegas race has continued to serve as a test bed of innovation that can be leveraged across the broader F1 calendar, including opportunities in the hospitality, tailored sponsorship, and licensing.
