U.S. Stocks Rise Ahead of Thanksgiving Week -- Market Talk

1605 ET - U.S. stocks rise to end a winning week as U.S. indicators keep portraying a robust economy and the dollar strengthens. Super Micro Computer rises 12%, totalling a 78% gain for a week when the server maker submitted a plan to the Nasdaq that kept it listed and announced a new auditor. Consumer staples outperforms other S&P 500 sectors, rising more than 3% this week. U.S. activity, housing and labor data are due next week, potentially moving markets ahead of Thanksgiving. The DJIA rises 1% today and almost 2% in the week, to 44297, its 44th record this year. The S&P 500 is 0.4% higher at 5969, up 1.7% in the week.
