0552 GMT - With New Zealand's current cash rate still well above neutral, HSBC economist Paul Bloxham reckons further easing by its central bank is likely. In its August monetary policy statement, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand indicated a neutral estimate of around 3.4% versus the current cash rate of 4.75%, he notes. Also, the subsequent RBNZ meeting after next week is three months later. Hence, the RBNZ's board could consider cutting by 25 bps, 50 bps or 75 bps on Nov. 27 but will likely settle on a 50bp move, Bloxham says. This would balance the risks to both growth and inflation, he says. RBNZ's pace of easing may slow through 2025 as the economy continues to recover with the rate at 3.25% by end-2025, he adds.
