American Water Works' Pennsylvania Unit Closes Farmington Acquisition

American Water Works (AWK) unit Pennsylvania American Water said late Thursday it closed its acquisition of the Farmington Township water and wastewater system in Clarion County.

The company also agreed to acquire the water system assets of Corner Water Supply and Service, a Clarion County drinking water provider.

Pennsylvania American Water said it will acquire the systems for roughly $5.8 million combined.

The company said it plans to invest more than $3 million in system improvements during the next five years.
