About 80% of companies in Hong Kong have established sustainable development committees to monitor the implementation of environmental, social, and governance principles, showing management's taking ESG seriously, The Standard reported Friday, citing a report co-compiled by Ernst & Young Global.

61% of companies include sustainability risks in their risk management plans. However, only 17% consider sustainability opportunities when assessing risks and planning business strategies, the publication said.
