--Chip giant Qualcomm's interest in pursuing an acquisition of rival Intel has cooled, says Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter.
--The complexities associated with acquiring all of Intel has made a deal less attractive to Qualcomm, according to the report. It's possible that Qualcomm may look at pieces of Intel instead or rekindle its interest later, it added.
--Qualcomm made a preliminary approach to Intel on a possible takeover in September. While a deal was likely to attract antitrust scrutiny, it could have been seen as an opportunity to strengthen the U.S.'s competitive edge in chips.
--Representatives for Qualcomm and Intel declined to comment, said Bloomberg.
