Hong Kong Shares End Flat as Trump Threatens Higher Tariffs on China Products -- Market Talk

0818 GMT - Hong Kong shares closed flat, as gains in some tech and consumer stocks offset losses in the auto and semiconductor sectors. The benchmark Hang Seng Index was flat at 19159.20 and the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.3%. Investors are digesting Trump's pledge to impose an additional 10% tariff on Chinese products. Baidu led gains on the HSI, up 4.2%. JD.com and Alibaba Group advanced 1.9% and 1.7%, respectively. Budweiser Brewing rose 2.1%. Meanwhile, Li Auto and BYD fell 0.9% and 1.0%, respectively.
