Gilt Yields Trim Falls After BOE's Lombardelli's Speech -- Market Talk

1008 GMT - Yields on U.K. government bonds edge higher after Bank of England member Clare Lombardelli reitarated the BOE's recent message about taking a gradual approach to interest rate cuts in a speech at the Bank of England Watchers Conference. "We need careful observation of all the relevant economic data and intelligence as we seek to gradually reduce policy restriction," Lombardelli said. The 10-year gilt yield last trades at 4.365%, up from 4.355% ahead of the speech, but still down around 3 basis points on the day, Tradeweb data show. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
