Stocks are poised to extend last week's gains as investors await a key inflation report and a holiday-shortened trading week.
Stock markets in the U.S. are closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving and open only until 1 p.m. E.T. on Friday.
Just after 6: 10 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.5%; the S&P 500 futures rose 0.4%; and Nasdaq Composite futures gained 0.5%.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 1.96% last week, to a record 44296.51, its 44th record close this year, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The S&P 500 index rose 1.7% last week, to 5969.34. And the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 1.7%.
Investors are awaiting the release of the minutes from the Federal Reserve's meeting earlier this month, coming out Tuesday, and the release of the personal consumption expenditures index for October and core PCE, the Fed's preferred inflation index, on Wednesday. Investors will also get fresh data on consumer confidence, housing, and trade sectors.
