Toyota Motor (TM) late Thursday reported a 0.8% year-over-year decline in production for October, with production dropping to 893,164 vehicles.

Toyota Motor's output in the US fell 12.8%, and output in North America fell by 7.2% year over year, due to a four-month suspension caused by recall of the TX and Grand Highlander models, the company said.

Toyota said production in China dropped 8.7% as the "market conditions remaining severe from factors such as intensifying price competition." Production in Japan rose 8.3%, recovering from production disruptions the previous year.

Despite the decline in the production, Toyota reported a 1.4% increase in global sales in October, reaching 903,103 vehicles.
