Santana Minerals Advances Drilling at New Zealand Deposit; Shares Down 8%

Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) advanced drilling activities at the Rise and Shine deposit within the Bendigo-Ophir project in New Zealand, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Results from the first eight holes drilled for the 22-hole program yielded up to 3.1 meters at 1.3 grams per tonne grade of gold from 431.9 meters, the miner said in the filing.

The company's shares fell almost 8% in recent Monday trade in Australia and were down nearly 7% in New Zealand.
