CK Infrastructure (HKG:1038) refused to comment on reports it plans to purchase Thames Water Utilities in the UK, The Standard reported.
The infrastructure company said it is looking for opportunities that owul boost the group's development and improve returns for shareholders, the report said.
US Investment Group KKR was negotiating with Thames Water for a 3 billion-pound sterling capitalization plan, the report said.
CK Infrastructure and KKR own stakes in water supplier Northumbrian Water, the supplier for the east of England, the report said.
Shares rose 2% during Tuesday's afternoon trading.
