Bluebird bio (BLUE) said late Wednesday it will implement a 1-for-20 reverse split of its common shares, mainly to boost the stock's price to regain compliance with Nasdaq's minimum bid price requirement for continued listing.
The company expects its shares to start trading on a split-adjusted basis on Dec. 13.
Bluebird shares were down 38% in after-hours activity.
