1438 ET - Black Friday traffic fell 2% year-over-year, though it beat estimates that traffic would be down 8%, UBS analysts say in a research note, citing a recent conversation with the National Retail Federation. More consumers shopped in-store than last year, while online shopping trends swung negative, data shows. "Roughly 31% of shoppers said they were buying toys as gifts for Thanksgiving weekend, in line with last year, but down from 33% in 2019 (and 34% in 2018)," analysts write. Mattel's Barbie remained the undisputed top toy for girls this year, while Lego once again claimed the top spot for boys, UBS says. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
