Silicon Laboratories (SLAB) said Thursday that it had shipped 4 million chips for smart electricity meters for the Indian government's Advanced Metering Initiative, a grid project aimed at deploying smart meters.
The FG23 SoC chips use a mesh technology from Finnish wireless connectivity provider Wirepas, Silicon Laboratories said. The companies announced a partnership earlier this year.
