Shimmick (SHIM) said it received a key role in the North Hollywood-to-Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit project after the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority approved an about $8.3 million contract for preconstruction services on Dec. 5.

Shimmick, with its partner Myers and Sons, as part of the Myers-Shimmick Joint Venture, will be the construction manager/general contractor for the project's preconstruction services phase, it said late Thursday.

If awarded to Myers-Shimmick, the construction value for the construction phase is estimated at $190 million.

Early utility work in the project will likely begin in 2025, and the project is slated for completion by 2028, the company said.
