US stock futures were treading water in Thursday's premarket session as investors looked ahead to jobless claims data to be released later.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were off 0.02%, S&P 500 futures were down 0.03%, and Nasdaq futures were nudging 0.04% lower.
Oil prices were flat, with front-month global benchmarks Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude gaining 0.07% and 0.03%, respectively.
Initial jobless claims, which measure the number of people who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time during the past week, are expected to rise to 215,000 from 213,00 the previous week, according to Bloomberg.
Among gaining stocks, PainReform (PRFX) jumped 134% following a 6% loss Wednesday. Bluejay Diagnostics (BJDX) gained 93% after it said in a regulatory filing that it has regained compliance with Nasdaq's listing rule. And Protara Therapeutics (TARA) advanced 40% after it reported positive results from a phase 2 trial assessing the company's investigational cell-based therapy in patients with high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
On the losing side, shares of Cyclerion Therapeutics (CYCN) tumbled 26% after jumping 294% on Wednesday. Celcuity (CELC) shares fell 20% after rising 1.4% Wednesday. And shares of Upexi (UPXI) dropped 19%, paring its 36% gain a day earlier.
