BUZZ-Crypto stocks rise after bitcoin storms above $100,000

** Shares of cryptocurrency and blockchain-related companies rise premarket after bitcoin rises above $100,000 for the first time

** Bitcoin's value has more than doubled this year, climbing more than 50% since President-elect Donald Trump's election victory and pro-crypto lawmakers being elected to Congress

** Trump named Paul Atkins to run the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday

** A former SEC commissioner, Atkins has been involved in crypto policy as co-chair of the Token Alliance, which works to "develop best practices for digital asset issuances and trading platforms"

** Bitcoin is up 4.8% at $102612.2; Ether up 1.8%

** Retail trading platform Robinhood rises 4.4%

** Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global gains 3.2%; miners Riot Platforms , MARA Holdings , and U.S.-listed shares of Hut 8 add 4.9%, 6.3% and 6%, respectively

** MicroStrategy , a major crypto investor, rises 6.5%

** iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF advances 3.7%, while ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF is up 4%
