Health care stocks fell Thursday afternoon, with the NYSE Health Care Index and the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) each shedding 1%.
The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.9%.
In corporate news, Protara Therapeutics (TARA) shares surged 85% after the company said its investigational therapy TARA-002 showed a complete response rate of 72% at six months in a phase 2 trial involving people with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.
Novo Nordisk (NVO) said Thursday it plans to significantly reduce the list price paid by US customers for its Tresiba and Fiasp insulin products starting January 2026. Its shares eased 0.2%.
Nano-X Imaging (NNOX) shares popped 2.4% after the company said it received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its Nanox.ARC stationary X-ray system.
