China Everbright Group's former chairman Tang Shuangning was given a 12-year sentence for corruption, bribery, and abusing his position for personal gains, state broadcaster CCTV reported Tuesday.

Tang, who was arrested in January on suspicion of taking bribes, was also fined 1.3 million yuan, the report said.

China Everbright Group's subsidiaries include China Everbright Ltd. (HKG:0165), Everbright Securities (HKG:6178, SHA:601788) and China Everbright Bank (HKG:6818, SHA:601818).
