BYD (SHE:002594, HKG:1211) is on track to exceed its 2024 sales target of 4 million vehicles as sales for the first 11 months of the year hit nearly 3.8 million units, Reuters reported Monday.
This sets the Chinese carmaker to overtake Ford and Honda (TYO:7267), according to the report.
BYD's efforts to improve its scale by boosting production capacity and hiring more workers helped it outpace rivals, Reuters wrote.
Citi analysts said BYD aims to sell 5 million to 6 million cars in 2025, according to the report.
