BYD (SHE:002594) is focusing on plug-in hybrid cars in its expansion into the European market, Reuters reported Tuesday.
BYD's special adviser for Europe, Alfredo Altavilla, said hybrid vehicles are at the core of the Chinese carmaker's European strategy due to market demand, according to the report.
Plug-in hybrids currently account for about 70% of BYD sales in Europe, Reuters cited Alessandro Grosso, BYD's country manager for Italy, as saying.
