0807 GMT - British American Tobacco provided a reassuring update, and the confirmation of its financial acceleration in 2H is critical in building confidence over the company's medium-term targets, industry analyst Tobacco Insider says. However, the FTSE 100 tobacco group's road to achieve its targets by 2026 will be bumpy due to the timing of investments and uncertainty around consumer demand, Tobacco Insider founder and managing director Cem Ozguven says. The company also faces challenges with competitive and regulatory dynamics, particularly in the U.S. market where it makes 54% of its operating profit, he adds. With shares trading at an undemanding level, the company provided a number of reasons for the market to be cautiously optimistic, Ozguven says. Shares are up 0.3% at 29.78 pounds.
