Adtran, IdeaTek Collaborate to Deploy 50Gbit/s PON Network Across Kansas

Adtran (ADTN) and IdeaTek said Thursday they have partnered to deploy 50Gbit/s passive optical network technology across Kansas, aiming to improve connectivity statewide including in underserved communities.

Financial details weren't disclosed.

The collaboration will use Adtran's SDX 6400 Series OLT to provide scalable, future-ready infrastructure with speeds of up to 50Gbit/s, supporting applications like smart farming, IoT connectivity, remote healthcare, augmented/virtual reality, and ultra-high-definition video for homes and businesses, according to a joint statement.

Shares of Adtran were up 3.1% in recent Thursday trading.
